“Sarajevo 1992-1996” is a photography book featuring more than 100 images taken by Italian photojournalist Enrico Dagnino.
A visual and straightforward testimony about the city of Sarajevo and its people during the siege, accompanied by Dagnino's notes and drawings from that time, along with texts by Džemil Hodžić, Nihad Kreševljaković and Enric Martí. The book was designed by Ideologija and published by Kuma International in 2023.

DŽEMIL HODŽIć

"Enrico. A man who, through his powerful photos, preserved my childhood, provided a snapshot of my country’s turbulent history and recorded our collective suffering. He was there for us when we needed him the most. This book is as important as any other document from the Siege of Sarajevo. Three decades have passed and many readers will have little or no memory of these troubled days and nights so it is more important than ever that the atrocities we experienced are properly documented."

NIHAD KREŠEVLJAKOVIć

"With Enrico's contribution, the photographic memory of the city is richer. His excellent book, preserving Sarajevo's complex history, includes some of the most significant moments from the siege period. Unlike domestic photographers, the foreign photojournalists had the opportunity to place themselves behind the enemy lines, close to those who kept the city under siege. The photos from the other side provide an important record because, for the inhabitants of Sarajevo, the outlines of the horizon and the mountains surrounding the city also represent the borders of the entire planet."

ENRIC MARTí

"I always felt Enrico was somehow different from most other photojournalists covering the war and daily life. His pictures were straightforward, not pretending to be "artistic." Enrico was never interested in entering his work in contests most photographers were obsessed with. As he always says, "I am just doing my job." His connection with the people he photographed during the siege seemed natural despite the language barrier."
